A Commentary On The Animal Apocalypse of I EnochPatrick A. Tiller
The Animal Apocalypse, an allegorical dream allegedly of the antediluvian patriarch Enoch, is the second of two dream visions that make up book 4 of the book of Enoch. Patrick Tiller’s commentary, the most extensive treatment of the Animal Apocalypse available, consists of three sections: (1) introduction; (2) critical (Ethiopic, Greek, and Aramaic) text; and (3) translation and notes. The discussion of the historical significance of this obscure apocalyptic text is based on detailed studies of the textual transmission of the work, the history of composition, and the allegorical system employed.
